Seller Management
Updated: Jun 21, 2026
This page describes what you need to turn a seller into a managed partner you run ads for with managed partner ads (MPA).
A seller is a business that sells its products through marketplaces or retailers. After you onboard a seller into managed partner ads, that seller becomes a managed partner. The only difference between a seller and a managed partner is where the business is in the onboarding process.
Terminology
These are some terms you may see in the managed partner ads documentation.
| Term | Description |
|---|---|
| Marketplace or Retailer | Platforms that bring consumers and sellers together exclusively online. They often stock and sell products from different brands. The API documentation sometimes calls this "parent". |
| Seller | Businesses that sell their products through marketplaces, retailers, or both. The API documentation sometimes calls this "child". |
| Managed partner | An onboarded seller participating in a managed partner ads partnership with a marketplace or retailer. The API documentation sometimes calls this "child". |
Seller information
You need the following information for each seller you want to onboard as a managed partner:
- Facebook Page name or Business ID *
- Seller website URL
- Vendor ID
* The Facebook Page name or Business ID is not required, but it helps you quickly onboard sellers to become managed partners.
APIs for managing sellers
APIs that apply to sellers also apply to managed partners.
